On today's episode, Matt speaks to one of Broadway's most fearless stars, Mandy Gonzalez. From "Aida" to "Wicked" to "In the Heights" to "Hamilton," Gonzalez is one of Broadway's most talented and consistent performers. But, last fall, she was diagnosed with breast and began undergoing treatment while she was playing Angelica Schuyler on Broadway.
Now, every Monday throughout the entire month of June, Gonzalez is co-hosting a five-part livestream series with The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan called Broadway’s Best for Breast Cancer. In these events, she and her co-host Caroline Kohles speak with medical professionals and Broadway stars about their experience with cancer, either as a survivor or as someone who has supported a loved one with the disease.
They have already welcomed Krysta Rodriguez and Kerry Butler, and future guests include James Monroe Iglehart, Javier Munoz, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and more.
