On this episode, Matt chats with playwright Julia Blauvelt and the artistic director for the New Normal Rep Jack Canfora.

Jack’s company is currently wrapping up its first all virtual season with Julia’s gripping new play "F.I.R.E." In it, she explores a group of richly drawn characters through the lens of a potential accounting crisis at a New York City hedge fund. And while accounting practices and ethics might not sound like the stuff that makes for a thrilling character study, Julia uses the stories heightened stakes to reveal the varied personalities and perspectives of her characters as panic and chaos builds around them.
