Tony and Emmy Award winner John Lithgow returns to the director’s chair for the one-man show from celebrated New Yorker Magazine and "Saturday Night Live" writer Douglas McGrath. This autobiographical play recounts McGrath's life starting with his teenage years in Texas; most intriguingly, an eighth-grade teacher who would change his life in the most unexpected way.
"Everything’s Fine" is a 90-minute high-wire act of an alternately funny, touching, and shocking memoir for the stage. Doug is the Academy Award-nominated screenwriter for "Bullets Over Broadway," wrote and directed "Emma" starring Gwyneth Paltrow, and also wrote the book for "Beautiful: The Carole King Story."
He’s also written for “Saturday Night Live,” The New Yorker, Air Mail, and The New Republic. He has acted in numerous films and TV shows including "Quiz Show," "Happiness" "Small Town Crooks," "Michael Clayton, “Godless,” and “Girls,” among numerous other credits.
